Throughout the month of November, poppies and the words "Lest We Forget" are displayed as a symbol of remembrance for those who fought and died in defense of our freedoms. However, to the pro-Palestinian activist, November is not for the remembrance of veterans who fought bravely in wars such as WWI and WWII but, instead, an opportunity to memorize the next generation of Nazis--those whose life mission is to eradicate Jews.

In Mississauga, Ontario, a "Lest We Forget" vigil has been planned for the 26th of November, commemorating 40 days since the "martyrdom" of Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas who was the mastermind behind the October 7th massacre of 1,200 Israelis.

The City of Mississauga and its mayor, Carolyn Parrish, released a statement saying that they are aware of the rally and "will not interfere with a peaceful vigil." Astonishingly, the only aspect of the terror-praising event that the city found unacceptable was the use of trademarked poppy images on their poster.

The statement from the city neglected to mention that under Canadian law, Hamas is designated as a terrorist organization. Furthermore, the vigil commemorates a terrorist leader who, when alive, was sanctioned by the Canadian government--barred from entering the country and having any dealings with Canadians. As highlighted by Joe Warmington, writing for the Toronto Sun, the city has shown a clear double standard.

"Everybody knows if the KKK were to hold a rally honoring the death of their leader, it would not be permitted to happen any more than if a bunch of Nazis decided to mark Hitler's birthday," he wrote. "Hamas is not any different and is a banned terror group in Canada. Celebrating them is obscene -- and hurtful to the families of their victims."

"There was no mention of the horrors this man or Hamas caused, brutally slaying innocent Israelis on Oct. 7, 2023, and taking 250 hostages - of which more than 100 remain captive," Warmington underscored. "Every death in Gaza since that attack is a result of this man's evil, barbaric assault on a music festival and nearby villages."

In Ottawa, Ontario, a high school is facing backlash after using an "Arabic-language Palestinian protest song associated with fighting in Gaza" as background music for their Remembrance Day presentation, according to the National Post.

"The song was the sole musical accompaniment to a slide show of Canadian soldiers and words about peace shown at three Remembrance Day ceremonies for different age groups," the National Post reported.

In defense of the school's actions, the Principal of Sir Robert Borden school, Aaron Hobbs, complained that Remembrance Day ceremonies too often focus on "a white guy who has done something related to the military." Hobbs later wrote a letter to outraged parents, apologizing that the choice of music "could be seen as politically charged."

Like much of the Western world, students from college campuses across Ontario have also been found to openly praise Palestinian and Lebanese "freedom fighters" (i.e., Hamas, PIJ, and Hezbollah terrorists). Following Israel's operation targeting the pagers of Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon, pro-Palestinian demonstrators from Western University in London, Ontario, passed out pagers in remembrance of Hezbollah "martyrs."

Shortly after the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, Heidi Matthews, an international law professor at York University in Toronto, Ontario, mourned the mass murderer and called for an investigation into the circumstances of his death, writing on X: "There is good reason to believe that Sinwar was, in fact, murdered by the IDF. Rather than celebrating death using inflammatory language of 'elimination,' Canada should be demanding that Israel comply with an independent investigation into the circumstances of Sinwar's death."

Robert Gottselig, Executive Director of the Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry Canada, addressed the absurdity of Matthews' remarks and all those who openly glorify Hamas.

"Does she not know what this monstrous terrorist organized on October 7th--the rape, the murder, the butchering, the torture, and the kidnapping of innocent men, women, and children? Does she not know that Hamas is officially recognized in Canada as a terrorist organization whose Charter is the destruction of Israel?" he questioned. "If you can't see the moral differences between Israel and Hamas, well, then there's no hope for you. Wake up!"

"Canada is becoming a scary place for our Jewish friends," he explained. "We have a real hatred in our country and around the world for Israel and the Jewish people, and I'm going to simply ask you: On what side do you want to be found? God is crystal clear in Genesis 12:3 that He will 'bless those that bless' the Jewish people and 'curse those that curse' them. Very simply, I hope you will be found on the side of blessing because if a country and its people are found on the side of God's cursing, 'woe unto them.'"
