A Generation Led Astray: The Consequences Of LGBT Indoctrination

In recent years, we have witnessed a staggering and deeply troubling shift in how young people identify themselves regarding gender and sexuality. According to the latest Gallup poll, a record-high 9.3% of American adults now identify as LGBTQ. However, the most alarming aspect of this trend is the overwhelming representation of Generation Z in these numbers. More than one in five Gen Z adults (22.7%) now claim to be part of the LGBTQ community. This is a dramatic increase from previous generations and signals a cultural crisis that Christians cannot ignore.

The Social Contagion and Cultural Indoctrination

How did we get here? The answer lies in the deliberate and aggressive promotion of LGBTQ ideology in every facet of society. Whether in public schools, higher education, entertainment, corporate policies, or even church movements that have abandoned biblical teaching, young people today are bombarded with messages that distort truth and morality.

A key driver of this increase is what some researchers call "social contagion." Multiple studies have suggested that a significant portion of individuals, particularly young women, are being influenced into identifying as LGBT, especially as transgender, through peer pressure, online communities, and relentless media reinforcement.

Abigail Shrier, author of Irreversible Damage, has documented this phenomenon in detail, showing how rapid-onset gender dysphoria (ROGD) has led to an explosion in young girls suddenly identifying as boys after being exposed to pro-transgender messaging in schools and social media.

Additionally, Dr. Lisa Littman's research found that in many cases, entire friend groups simultaneously began identifying as transgender, further proving the role of social influence rather than biological or innate tendencies. Despite these alarming findings, mainstream institutions suppress any critical discussion, labeling opposition as "hate speech."

The Moral and Spiritual Consequences

The consequences of this widespread deception are devastating. The LGBT movement promises "freedom" and "authenticity," yet studies indicate that those who undergo gender transitions often experience severe mental health issues. According to a study published in JAMA Surgery, individuals who undergo gender reassignment surgery are nearly 20 times more likely to commit suicide than the general population. Another study from Sweden found that even after transitioning, transgender individuals have significantly higher rates of depression, anxiety, and self-harm.

From a Christian perspective, this phenomenon is a direct rebellion against God's created order. In Romans 1:25, Paul writes, "They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator." What we are witnessing today is a modern embodiment of this warning. People are not merely questioning societal norms; they are rejecting the fundamental reality that God created humanity in His image, male and female (Genesis 1:27).

The Political and Cultural Response

Under the Biden administration, pro-LGBT policies have been aggressively pushed, from allowing biological males to compete in women's sports to funding gender transition procedures for minors. In contrast, President Trump has taken steps to roll back these radical policies, emphasizing the importance of biological reality, protecting religious freedom, and standing against the DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) agenda that seeks to erode traditional values.

Despite Trump's actions, Christians must recognize that the real battle is not ultimately political, but spiritual. While policy changes can help push back against cultural decay, only the truth of the Gospel can transform hearts and minds.

A Call to Christian Action

As Christians, we must respond to this crisis with both boldness and compassion. It is not enough to merely lament these trends; we must actively engage in countering them. Here are several ways the Church can respond:

Teach Biblical Truth Unapologetically - Many churches have compromised on this issue, embracing the false teaching that "love" means affirming sinful lifestyles. True love means guiding people toward God's truth, even when it is uncomfortable.

Protect Our Children - Parents must take a more active role in educating their children about biblical sexuality. Allowing schools, social media, and Hollywood to disciple the next generation is a recipe for disaster.

Support Those Struggling - Many young people caught up in this movement are deeply hurting. Ministries like Restored Hope Network and Changed Movement provide Christ-centered help for those seeking freedom from LGBT lifestyles.

Engage in Cultural Conversations - Silence is no longer an option. We must speak out against false ideologies while demonstrating the love of Christ. As Ephesians 4:15 exhorts, we must "speak the truth in love."

Conclusion

The surge in LGBT identification is not an organic cultural shift--it is the result of intentional indoctrination, social pressure, and spiritual deception. But Christians must remember that we are called to be the light in the darkness.

Though we may feel outnumbered in this cultural battle, we serve the King of Kings, and His truth will prevail in the end. Our mission is clear: stand firm, speak truth, and extend the love of Christ to a world desperate for real hope.
