Liberal Member of Parliament Marc Miller is the chair of the House Justice Committee, and last week he wondered whether Canada's Criminal Code allows too much space for people to defend "hate speech" when they refer to the Bible.
Hezbollah is pursuing a political strategy to take over the Lebanese parliament, and the Lebanese state is largely helpless in stopping its activities. At the same time Hezbollah still possesses a considerable arsenal of 30,000 projectiles and is looking to rebuild more quickly.
While everyone’s attention is fixed on the government impasse over the budget and food stamp funding, there’s a much deeper issue brewing beneath the surface — one that could redefine the entire American economy. If a member of parliament and former interior minister can be criminally prosecuted for a Bible-verse post, every Christian in the West should be concerned. Freedom of speech and religion must include the right to peacefully express beliefs that may not align with the prevailing political orthodoxy.
